CANARIAN'S FOOD
Good morning!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Today I come to talk to you about the traditional food I have tasted during my stay in the Canary Islands. I invite you to taste the typical food of every place you visit, you can be surprised!😋
FESTIVE MEAT (O COCHINO DE ADOBO)
The festive meat is one of the most typical dishes of the Canarian cuisine and very much loved by its people. Apart from its richness, it is closely related to popular celebrations and festivities.
You can taste it in any of the Canary Islands' guachinche (a homemade restaurant)
It is a preparation made from marinated pork meat and cut into small pieces, salt, garlic, spices such as pepper, thyme, oregano, parsley paprika, a dash of vinegar and a dash of white wine. It reminds us of thrush meat.
CANARIAN PANCAKES FOR CARNIVAL
Carnival pancakes in the Canary Islands are made to be tasted on Carnival Tuesday.
The Carnival pancakes are flour pancakes that are enriched with other ingredients such as eggs, milk, sugar, and to give it even more flavor is added the grated peel of some citrus fruit which can be lemon or orange, some aniseed, ground cinnamon, and a glass of aniseed.
All these ingredients are used to prepare a dough and then the pancakes are fried or baked and sprinkled with icing sugar for presentation.
Carnival pancakes are accompanied by a dash of honey, or some syrup that can be just sugar or flavored.
This traditional dish is made up of small potatoes, seasoned with the two sauces called mojos: mojo vede and mojo picón.

GOFIO SKIRTING BOARD
The gofio is a very typical food of the Canary Islands, composed of
a flour of toasted cereals such as barley and wheat, which was consumed since the time of the aborigines, forming the staple food in the diet of the same. Canarian gofio is recognised by the European Commission as a protected designation of origin.
The gofio stew can be eaten as an individual dish, or also as an accompaniment to other dishes, such as a fish casserole or the Canarian stew of which we spoke earlier.
